The continuing education content of this package is designed for insurance producers who need to renew their professional license.
This package begins with 3 hours on ethics discussing many different topics surrounding ethical practices, such as ethics versus morals, ethics in practice, ethical decision-making models that illustrate how ethical dilemmas may be solved, and the terminology used in ethics, such as tort law, equity, and more. The course will assist the student in making the proper ethical decisions, provide examples of poor ethical choices, and the legal enforcement of ethics.
The 15 hours of instruction on property and casualty insurance are divided up into three general segments.
First, there will be a segment on automobile insurance. This segment described the type of insurance coverage that is provided for automobiles. The segment examines both personal automobile policies and automobile policies for businesses and other commercial operations.
Next, there will be a segment on business related forms of insurance.
- This segment opens with a detailed exploration of the many types of commercial insurance including commercial property, commercial general liability, commercial crime, and farm insurance.
- This segment will then move on to a discussion of businessowners insurance policies and the coverage this kind of insurance provides.
- This segment ends by looking at workers’ compensation insurance. This portion of the segment will look at the benefits that are provided by workers’ comp along with the responsibilities of employees and employers.
After that, the course will have a segment on other forms of property and casualty insurance such as excess and umbrella insurance, surety bonds, errors and omissions insurance, flood insurance, and watercraft and boatowners insurance.
The course will conclude with an 80 question exam that is meant to promote and improve comprehension of the course content.
Note: On and after January 1, 2022, the bill amends the CEC requirement for agents to require each licensed agent to earn 18 CECs biennially, permit at least 3 hours of instruction in ethics, and remove the required insurance agency management hours.
